I am Chosen

The thoughts that I share with you are from my favorite bible verse of the day John 15:16, it says:

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.(NIV)

My focus for today is on the former part of the verse which says “You did not choose me, but I chose you” these words have not stopped singing in my head since I came across them.

One of the sweetest verses from the bible that embodies the assurance we have in God's love.

I recently went through a heartbreaking phase, the end of a romantic interest. I was burdened and plagued by feelings of rejection.

And then I came across this verse, it was like a balm to my heart and I knew instantly that God was telling me that I am loved and chosen.

I recently asked myself, “can we take our relationship issues to God” it was funny but I've always assumed that relationship issues were too trivial to talk about with God.
I could take my career, finance, education, health and spiritual matters to God but somehow I had restricted Him from my relationships.

This was God letting me know that Indeed there is nothing too small or big to discuss with him.

I am chosen.

I will constantly remind myself of this truth whether I am rejected by a love interest, a school, a job, a friend, whatever the situation or context might be.

I am chosen,
I am loved,
I am enough.
